Insurance

Under State Law, school districts are not liable for accidents which occur in school. It is important to understand the school/district is not responsible for medical payments or bills for your child. If your child is injured during any school or athletic/ UIL sponsored activity, all medical charges are your responsibility. As a service to the community, Conroe ISD has contracted with Student Assurance Services to help provide student accident insurance for your child.

7-12 UIL Supplemental Accident Health Insurance (Coverage at no extra cost)

Conroe ISD has purchased a supplemental accident policy which covers students in grades 7-12 that are  involved in UIL Activities. This is a limited benefit policy that does not require purchase. Your insurance will pay first, after you have met the $250 out of pocket deductible per injury the Conroe ISD policy will then pay on a set schedule of benefits. Any remaining balance after the insurance plans have paid will be the parents responsibility.

If you do not have personal health insurance, this accident health  insurance plan will become the primary insurance. You will still be required to meet the $250 deductible before the plan will pay per its schedule of benefits. There is no guarantee that all medical expenses will be covered. All uncovered expenses are the parent’s responsibility.

Claim forms should be taken to the doctor when an injury requires professional medical treatment. Our goal is always to provide a completed claim form at the time of injury. If you do not receive one and you have taken your student to the doctor, please call us. We can still provide a claim form even though the student has already been taken to the doctor.
